LisAni Auditions

LisAni, the magazine dedicated to music in anime that launched last year, is holding auditions to find a female who’d like to become a singer. The winner of these auditions will debut in August with LisAni Records and their new debut song will be produced by none other than Satoshi Yaginuma. Sat is also a judge in this contest for this reason. He said in an interview on the site that he is looking for a unique female voice, someone “who holds a truly special voice.” The songs that contestants may choose to enter with include: only my railgun, late in autumn, LEVEL5-judgelight-, memory of snow, future gazer, and fortissimo-the ultimate crisis-. There is an interview on the official LisAni Auditions site with pictures. Sat will also appear in a special program promoting the audition on Tuesday at 10pm JST on NicoNico Douga.

One quote I thought was interesting in this interview was the way Sat described Nanjo’s voice when he discovered her:

I got goosebumps when I heard Yoshino Nanjo’s voice for the first time. I thought, “she has [a wonderful, unique voice]” … Having that kind of presence is good – the impact of knowing “she is my artist!” just by listening to her voice [on first listen].

The whole premise of these auditions sounds interesting. As for what kind of image the chosen singer will hold is still undecided. However, they are looking for a female with a heroine quality as well as a unique voice (they mentioned that skill was not that important in this audition). This singer will be the second artist Sat will produce for outside fripSide. He’s definitely starting to make a name for himself, isn’t he? What does everyone else think? Will you be looking forward to hearing the winner’s debut?

LEVEL5-judgelight- lyrics

LEVEL5-judgelight-

words: fripSide
music: Satoshi Yaginuma
arrangement: Satoshi Yaginuma

Everyone already knows this song by now, so coupled with my feelings towards the song, that is the reason I never bothered with these. Now I’m jamming to the remix. And I need them for sake of completion so…

Did you know? Nanjo has said,” I wrote the lyrics before reading the scenario given to us…” to which Sat added, “I completed the lyrics she gave me to make them more relatable [hence the reason why the lyrics are credited to fripSide].”
