fripSide will be performing again at Animelo for a third time on August 24! This year’s Animelo is titled Animelo Summer Live 2013 -FLAG NINE- and will be at Saitama Super Arena as usual. This year has been expanded to 3 days instead of 2.

In that group μ’s from LoveLive. It’s that idol group Nanjolno plays a character (Eri Ayase). Ooh, there seems to be an anime planned around this group slated for 2013! Anyway, this group will perform on August 26 (ALTIMA will be on the 25th).
That means both Sat and Nanjolno will take the Animelo stage this year!!
…but separately in different groups, haha.
We are still getting a fripSide live performance this summer, though!

ALTIMA will be performing at Animelo Summer Live 2012 -infinity- on Saturday, August 25 (first day!).
The group also released a trial preview of their upcoming song Burst The Gravity. The trio have retired the sparkling gold and fuschia outfits for now and have a sleek new look! The single has its own page with a couple of new ALTIMA photos so check it out.

Another interview with fripSide recently hit the web. It’s much longer than the previous and I don’t really have the time to type out the entire thing, so I decided to summarize it instead.

Nanjo had a lot of fun. “It was a wonderful stage of happiness. I even laughed unintentionally. During rehearsal and the real thing.”
Sat believes that fripSide is able to show its entertainment side during Animelo performances.
Heaven is a Place on Earth
Sat thinks it’s important that fripCDs reflect not only the season they are released but also the work they are connected with. He also stated that he originally thought about doing a ballad but didn’t feel it would have been ‘fripSide.’ “Even though we didn’t go with the ballad idea, I made something that I considered to be an emotional song.”
Nanjo thinks that Heaven has a sprinting-feeling that is different from the Railgun songs. It’s not a battle song and feels more youthful.

Sat wanted to do a complete 180 from the previous themes. It’s full of rock flavor and aggressive sound. The English interludes were meant to be drawn out and he feels that these sections are very close to the original sound fripSide had before Nanjo joined. He hopes that such sound will be refreshing to those following fripSide’s 2nd generation. The ‘shift up’ in the chorus is very fripSide. The music itself is very ambitious.
Nanjo thinks the introduction sets the song up in a different way than the others have. The song has a different direction than previous ones.
ALTIMA’s 1st single will be I’ll Believe and it’ll come out December 7, 2011

As for more details on the performance, according to HMV, their set started with the black bag that the ended with last year, and LEVEL5-judgelight- started. The slot screen made its return and introduced the Magician this year during LEVEL5~ and Esper Ito, who emerged from the bag, during only my railgun.

So we all know Animelo was held last weekend. Well, on the second day, the concert had a special surprise: a secret debut of a group called ALTIMA. A 3-person unit with female vocalist Maon Kurosaki, motsu of m.o.v.e on rap, and Satoshi Yaginuma on synthesizers and composition. That sounds really awesome! I’m having flashbacks of vanity destroyer right now.
Anyway, the song ALTIMA performed was called I’ll Believe and it’s the ending song to the anime 灼眼のシャナIII (Shakugan no Shana III). Here’s the first preview of the song I’ll Believe.
The anime will start airing in October.
As for fripSide, Sat posted a backstage picture of him, Nanjolno, their stage guests, and back dancers on his blog. Nanjolno wore the same outfit from the Heaven PV. Also, if you have a Nico account, you can watch fripSide’s back stage interview at Animelo.

I’m excited. I love Sat’s compositions and vanity destroyer remains one of my fav fripSide songs partly because of the awesome drive and stimulation that kikuzo’s rap brought to the party (even though I still can’t understand a word of it to this day, lol). I’ll Believe is my favorite style from Sat!
Let’s take a moment and see what activities Sat has going. There’s fripSide, Nagareda Project, the LisAni auditions, and now ALTIMA. He’s really branching himself out and spreading his music. His world’s expansion reminds me of Tetsuya Komuro, which is no surprise considering TK is one of Sat’s biggest influences. I don’t know if I can keep up!

Under the cut, just in case no one wants to be spoiled yet
Animelo site revealed the artist goods for this year and fripSide has 3 different shirts (1 design from last year) and 2 towels. Like most fripGoods, these carry a techno/binary/computer chip theme. This year’s little animal is a mini lizard (last year at the infinite synthesis concert, some of the goods had a butterfly).
The lizard is awfully adorable~ what do you think? Haven’t looked to see if there’s a place to purchase them anywhere but the concert venue.
